Page to the Stage

A Partnership Program from Centerstage Theatre

Your Students Belong in the Theatre

Page to the Stage brings high school students inside the world of professional theatre — live performances, backstage access, and digital content that goes beyond the curtain call. Not just a field trip. An experience they’ll actually talk about on Monday.

  • Free for qualifying schools and students
  • Connects to drama and English curriculum
  • Real conversations with actors, designers, and crew
  • No audition required. No experience necessary.

Stories live on stage. Page to the Stage gives students a front-row seat to how those stories get made — from the page to the lights to the moment the audience holds its breath. History, identity, conflict, humor — it’s all there, performed live by working professionals who love talking about their craft.

Every student deserves a night at the theatre. We make that happen.

She Loves Me
Directed by Michelle Blackmon

Anonymous letters and mistaken identities entwine with a gorgeous score and wonderful characters in this delightful, elegant musical comedy. In a bustling European city, a small perfume shop sees its fair share of colorful clients, to say nothing of the staff! Shop clerks Amalia and Georg tend to clash more often than not; both of them are competitive, customer-focused, and all business. But outside of work, each has a secret: a romantic pen pal they write rapturous letters to – someone they’ve never even met! …Or have they? She Loves Me was nominated for five Tony Awards when it debuted on Broadway, and both revivals garnered awards of their own. Join Amalia, Georg, and all their coworkers as they try to discover the secret identities of both lovers and liars alike!

  • Gender Roles and Narrow Norms

    Gender Roles and Narrow Norms

She Loves Me is often remembered as a charming, funny, and occasionally sweet romantic comedy. However, that doesn’t mean it won’t reflect, (and occasionally reinforce), 1930s gender norms that can and should feel uncomfortable today. One thing that is always interesting when telling a story like this, which is meant to reflect norms from decades…
