Celebrating the Next Generation of Theatre Artists

The Centerstage Theatre Spotlight Awards celebrate the incredible talent, creativity, and dedication happening on high school stages across the South Sound.

Each season, students and educators pour countless hours into rehearsals, design work, music, choreography, technical theatre, and performance. The Spotlight Awards were created to recognize that work and honor the students who make live theatre happen both onstage and behind the scenes.

Participating schools receive feedback and support from trained adjudicators throughout the year, culminating in an annual awards celebration at Centerstage Theatre. Awards recognize achievement in acting, ensemble work, choreography, vocals, design, technical theatre, stage crew leadership, and overall production excellence.

More than an awards ceremony, Spotlight is a celebration of collaboration, storytelling, and community. Students from different schools come together to share their passion for theatre, support one another, and experience the excitement of live performance in a professional setting.

Why It Matters

At Centerstage Theatre, we believe arts education changes lives.

Theatre builds confidence, empathy, communication skills, leadership, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. It gives students a place to take risks, discover their voice, and connect with others through storytelling.

The Spotlight Awards are part of our ongoing commitment to supporting arts education throughout our region and creating meaningful opportunities for young artists to grow.
