Characters!
Hey everyone! Our wonderful Stage Manager, Ashlyn, (you will meet her soon), made this character map for you all, so you can see faces, place character names, and see how people relate to one another.

Since the character relationships and their objectives are what drive the plot of any story, it might be fun to choose a few characters from this map and try to guess how they relate to each other, and what might change in their relationship during the show!
PS to TJHS: I really liked your thoughts in the comments on the last two posts! I want to respond to a few in a video at the end of this week. Talk soon! ~ Trista
Classroom Work – Building the Skills First
Clear Objectives
- Give each student a basic goal
- Examples: get a partner to agree with you, avoid answering a question, make someone laugh
- Keep the scene short and focused on achieving that goal
Quick Reflection
Ask students:
In what ways this past week have you navigated relationships in your life to achieve various objectives? Are the goals you have in mind always equitable and well-meaning, or have there ever been times where you’ve reflected later and realized you perhaps put yourself ahead of someone else…or the other way around? Remember that objectives can be small and simple – most days aren’t filled with high-stakes interactions!
