One day, the two younger Billy Goats Gruff, “Kid” and “Junior” go off in search of green, green grass and are startled by a River Troll! After much begging, and against his better judgment, the River Troll agrees to build them bridge to the green grass. When “Big Billy” sees the bridge, he refuses to let them cross because, “Where you find a bridge you are sure to find a bridge troll.” Kid cannot resist and starts across the bridge. “Who’s that trip-trapping across my bridge?” It’s the cranky Bridge Troll and he is not about to let anyone pass. Will the Three Billy Goats Gruff ever get to eat the green, green grass on the other side of the bridge?
The production features Bunraku, full body, and rod puppets. Thistle Theatre specializes in tabletop Bunraku, an ancient Japanese style of puppetry.
